🏃 Sports Competitions
Yoga and Swimming Individual Medley 400m events have been excluded. Instead, Swimming Individual Freestyle 50m competition has been newly introduced.
🎭 Excluded Cultural Events
Manipuri, Kathak, Deesty, Sitar, Story Writing (Hindi/English), Essay Writing, Quiz, and Flower Arrangement items have been excluded.
🎵 Change in Age Limit (15 to 40 Years)
In competitions like Vocal Music, Carnatic Music, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Flute, Veena, Tabla, Mridangam, and Harmonium—which were previously restricted to participants aged 15 to 29 years—youth aged 15 up to 40 years can now participate.
👥 Substitute Members in Group Events
To ensure continuous participation of teams, substitute members can be included in the primary-level registration. Up to 2 substitutes can be added for teams with up to 9 members, and 3 substitutes for groups with 10 or more members.
🎭 Street Play (Nukkad Natak) & Elocution
Street Play (Nukkad Natak) has been included as a National Youth Festival item, while the Elocution competition has been excluded. Only youth who have completed 15 years of age and have not exceeded 29 years as of August 17, 2026, are eligible to participate in this event.
