'Reform Utsav' and 'Swachhata Hi Seva' Campaign Inspire Enthusiasm in Grama Sabhas
Cheriyamundam: On Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, the 'Reform Utsav' and 'Swachhata Hi Seva' Grama Sabha was successfully organized under the joint auspices of the Local Self Government Department and the Grama Panchayat.
Massive public participation was recorded across Grama Sabhas in various wards of the panchayat, including elected representatives, Kudumbashree workers, Haritha Karma Sena members, and local residents.
Main Objectives of the Program:
- Ensure clean, transparent, and effective governance.
- Make local body services more accessible and public-friendly.
- Intensify sanitation and cleanliness activities at the ward level.
As part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, a cleanliness pledge was administered during the ward-level Grama Sabhas. Following this, a special sanitation drive and waste management awareness drive were conducted at public spaces, water bodies, and school premises, led by the Haritha Karma Sena and local residents. Sessions during the 'Reform Utsav' detailed various governance reforms and newly launched digital services implemented in the local self-government sector.
Grama Panchayat President P.T. Abdul Nasar officially inaugurated the Grama Sabha. Ward members, Panchayat Secretary, Standing Committee Chairpersons, and other socio-cultural leaders attended the functions in different wards.
